Livingston County - New YorkMOUNT MORRIS, N.Y., Nov. 5, 2026 — The Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation (CNR) is holding an employment open house on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at 11 Murray Hill Drive, Mount Morris, for registered nurses (RN), licensed practical nurses (LPN), and other key roles within the facility. Qualified candidates can attend to experience the CNR environment firsthand, ask questions, and speak to current staff to learn what a future with Livingston County would look like.
The CNR’s Marianne Miller is the recruitment specialist for the 266-bed facility. She will be on hand at the event to share information and the responsibilities that come with each position.
“What’s great about the CNR is there's exposure and opportunities to various roles in the nursing field,” said Miller. “We have RN managers for each neighborhood, there are charge building supervisors, RNs in employee health and in staff education along with other roles, so there are many opportunities for nurses to be assigned their discipline of interest.”
The CNR is structured with six units, referred to as neighborhoods, with each having their own RN manager who works Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and manages a team made up of a social worker, activities aide, medical typist and LPNs who care for up to 48 residents.
There are several openings for LPNs on the evening shift, which runs from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Miller said that pay rates are highly competitive and scale with experience to draw qualified candidates.
“One of the attractive points of the employment here is the higher rates of pay we offer compared to area employers in the region,” said Miller. “In that same vein, as these are unionized positions, annual raises are guaranteed. The County also offers free dental care, competitive health insurance, paid sick leave, paid time off, and New York State retirement.”
Haylee Reynolds has been with the CNR for the last 17 years and has held several positions there, from CNA (certified nursing assistant) to LPN, eventually earning her RN license. She said she received continuous support from the union, as well as the CNR administration, as she navigated working full time and attending college classes.
“While I was an LPN, the union was able to negotiate memorandums of agreement so I could go to classes for my RN and work a consistent full-time schedule on the night shift. I was also able to keep my seniority of 17 years toward retirement,” said Reynolds. “Eventually, I knew I wanted to work in staff education and when the CNA trainer position opened, they approached me to take the role.”
Competitive salaries and benefits extend to the CNAs currently in training under Reynolds. The CNR will host paid CNA certification classes in early 2027, combining classroom instruction with practical, hands-on experience within the facility’s neighborhoods.
Those same pay benefits also extend to the CNAs that Reynolds now trains. The CNR will be holding CNA certification classes in early 2027. The paid training will include both classroom and practical instruction in the facility’s neighborhoods.
Beyond the benefits of county employment, the CNR is truly dynamic in its community approach. The center promotes a home-like atmosphere, and whether it be through decorating the neighborhoods or encouraging residents to visit friends on other floors, the staff play a critical role in making this a reality.
“I expect professionalism, integrity, quality customer service, and utmost respect for our residents’ rights, beliefs, and choices,” said Spencer. “We're constantly searching for ways to improve our services and create a superior place for our resident to call home, and an outstanding workplace for our employees. We're inviting quality candidates to partner and grow with us.”
