Minister Buti Manamela launches NSFAS 2027 Application cycle, 18 Sept
The Minister of Higher Education and Training, Mr Buti Manamela, will launch the NSFAS 2027 Application Season during a media briefing in Johannesburg on Friday, 18 September 2026.
The launch will communicate the commencement of the 2027 NSFAS application cycle and demonstrate NSFAS’s operational, technological and customer-support readiness to assist prospective students.
The briefing will provide important information on the application process and a live demonstration of the application process will also be conducted to showcase NSFAS’s readiness to support students to apply.
The NSFAS 2027 application period is scheduled to open on 18 September 2026 and close on 31 October 2026. Eligible students are encouraged to apply early and ensure that their applications are completed correctly within the stipulated period.
Learners are also encouraged to apply for admission at Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges until 30 September 2026 for the 2027 academic year.
The launch will also provide an opportunity for the media to engage with the leadership of NSFAS and students leaders.
